Penguins’ Jeff Petry fined $5K for roughing Red Wings’ Berggren

Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Jeff Petry has been fined $5,000 for roughing Detroit Red Wings forward Jonatan Berggren during a pre-season game Tuesday.

The incident occurred in the second period of the game and Petry was given a minor penalty for roughing on the play.

The money will go to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

The Penguins acquired Petry in an off-season trade with the Canadiens.

The Red Wings won the game 6-2.
